Hillsong Live 2008 album: This is Our God

I recently found out that Hillsong released their latest CD for 2008 called “This is our God”. With sixteen tracks, it was recorded live on March 9, 2008 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The songs and its corresponding writers are as follows:

1. "Your Name High" (Joel Houston)
2. "
Run" (Houston)
3. "
Desert Song" (Brooke Fraser)
4. "
This Is Our God" (Reuben Morgan)
5. "
He Is Lord" (Ben Fielding)
6. "
High and Lifted Up" (Darlene Zschech & Mike Guglielmucci)
7. "
Stronger" (Morgan & Fielding)
8. "
Healer" (Guglielmucci)
9. "
You Are Here (The Same Power)" (Dave George & Grant Pankratz)
10. "
You Deserve" (Matt Crocker & James Dunlop)
11. "
Across the Earth" (Morgan, Crocker & Guglielmucci)
12. "
Where We Belong" (Morgan & Joel Davies)
13. "
Sing to the Lord" (Guglielmucci & Crocker)
14. "
You'll Come" (Fraser)
15. "
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" (Traditional)
16. "
With Everything" (Houston)

I’ve hyperlinked the songs to its videos from the DVD found in YOUtube so feel free to click away and enjoy!

I’ve listened to some of it. Two of my favorites would be “Desert Song” and “Healer”. Desert song was song lead by Brooke Fraser and Jill McCloghry. Jill was actually going through her own “desert” when they recorded the album. Days before, she prematurely gave birth to her son. The baby spent days in the neonatal ICU but later on died because it was just too little (she was six months pregnant). Jill still went ahead and lead worship despite what happened. I cannot imagine going through what she dealt with. I am pregnant now with my first baby. I’ve been through a lot with this pregnancy and it would be devastating for me to go through the same thing. Nevertheless, as the “Desert Song” powerfully states “I will bring praise… No weapon formed against me shall remain… God is my victory and He is here… All of my life, In every season, you are still God I have a reason to sing. I have a reason to worship…” This is the attitude of a true worshipper. Words that just pisses the enemy off!!

“Healer” on the other hand was written and worship lead by Mike Guglielmucci. This song is another powerful testimony of a life that believes and trusts God. You see, Mike is going through cancer. I’ve seen some clips where he was singing with an oxygen tank beside him! He reminded me of Mon, a church mate of mine who died of the same disease. He was also a worship leader. I never saw his death as defeat. He fought a good fight and he had a hopeful and worshipful attitude the entire time. I know of another church mate who is battling cancer. But week after week, I would still see her in the front row attending service passionately worshipping.

I know this is completely off topic but I actually started feeling the baby moving inside me yesterday! I am 17 weeks pregnant as of now. It is so magical! He usually moves around after I eat, when Butch and I talk to him and when I let him hear classical music. People say it will make the baby smarter but reading about it says there’s no proof or study showing that this is true. Anyhow, I am doing it to stimulate him and I just love feeling him move inside me! Sometimes, I could feel him bumping my bladder making me want to pee. Nigel will be moving around more pretty soon. Meanwhile its Hillsong’s This is our God, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Mozart will be on our playlist.

Hillsong is my favorite Christian music. Nice to know that they have a new CD. Please take care of your baby and let him listen to Christian and classical music. Those are celestial music that stimulate one's soul. God bless you and your family always.

ALL the best for your baby! Its so exciting to actually follow up with your pregnancy. Can wait to see pics of the baby soon!

BTW, the song "Healer" is AWESOME. There's so much meaning in it cause he wrote it in time of desperation and need. I also saw that video clip! Watching him sing with all those tubes connected to him was really moving.

Unfortunately, the Healer song by Pastor Michael Guglielmucci is a fraud (he is not in a battle against cancer)
Read the news here: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24216087-1246,00.html

It's bad but as Christians, we should be praying for him and those (believers and unbelievers) who are affected by this news and watch ourselves too..

I still love the song no matter what happens, as it really is a good and biblical song about our God!

uh-oh! thats another controversy hillsong has to face. Whether he has cancer or not, that doesn't change God's power to heal =)

thanks for the info Michael! its also nice to see you around =)

No problem

Hopefully not many Christians are so judgmental towards one another :)

It's been a while since the last time I listened to a Christian music. This album sounds very inspirational. Thanks for the tip. :)

Hi Sis! This album is really good, it is very inspiring. We were actually there at Acer Arena when they record This is Our God album. Awesome! To God be the Glory!

And about Mike G. in case you haven't heard about his real story. I know that God is still in control. And that He has purpose why this things happen...the Healer song is still as true for God is all we need. He is our Healer - This is our God.
