The other day, I went maternity clothes shopping. While I looked for a nice outfit to accommodate my ever growing belly, Butch hung out in the TOY STORE!! I found him looking at matchbox cars.
“Seriously, you’re going to buy some of those?”
Butch has a penchant for little knick knacks like that. Sometimes he would even purchase a Mc Donald’s Happy Meal just to get the free action figure. I am totally okay with him being like that but he tends to just leave it lying around the apartment contributing to unwanted clutter.
“What, it’s on sale! Buy two take one. “He said with his eyes busy looking for one more car to complete the three.
Driving home, Butch suddenly pulled over. He took one of the shopping bags and got out the ugliest looking rearview mirror ornament.
Apparently, the matchboxes weren’t his only finds in the toy store.
It was a scary looking skull with disheveled white hair and a really long blackish-red tongue sticking out! I think it was meant as a Halloween ornament and I bet he got it on sale. With the Axl Rose cd playing, Butch happily hung the ornament onto the mirror saying “Yeah!” I could have disapproved of it. But somehow I found him really cute and amusing.
In fact, that very moment was my favorite part of the day. One of the things I really love about Butch is though he is a very responsible and mature adult he takes joy in very simple things. He seems to have child-like qualities I so admire.
We decided to eat super at a small diner we are beginning to love located in our neighborhood. They serve ordinary meals like Tapsilog, Pork Barbeque, Chicken Nuggets all served with rice and all very yummy! Butch parked the car where we could see it from the inside. Our car, a 1980 restored Celica has no tint (one day, I will tell you how we got this car). Passers- by could easily see what’s inside- the shopping bags and groceries and all. While waiting for our food, I noticed Butch constantly eyeing the car.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Skully (I’ve given it a name at that point) will repel unwanted people. They might even think we’re Satanist or something. They’re gonna think twice; scared of the hex we might put on them if they take the car.” I said jokingly.
Here is a picture of Mr. Skully adorning (?) our car's dashboard…

Advance Happy Halloween!!! =)
He really looks scary. Just don't look at it frequently or it might have a negative influence on your baby. You know there are such things as subliminal influence that affect our psyche. There are even symbols and caricatures that may seem harmless but they may have been made with curses and hexes to influence people. Personally, I don't go for such stuffs. Well, there is a little boy in your husband and that just normal. You know they have a store with the name "Toys For The Big Boys." Thanks for the post. Just take care of your baby always. God bless you all.
